Volunteer Opportunity
Jenny Bombasaro-Brady '08 has started the Wheaton Volunteers in the Hub group working with the Greater Boston Wheaton Club. Wheaton Volunteers in the Hub will offer a series of volunteer opportunities to Greater Boston area alums at the Saturday/Sunday Bread Soup Kitchen at Saint John's Church on Beacon Hill. Volunteering is a way to give back to your community and help those in need. Also, being part of the Wheaton Volunteers in the Hub is a way to build relationshiops with fellow alums.
Who: Any and all Wheaton alums (we can take up to 6 volunteers, and 1-2 alternate for each date)
What: Set up, cook, serve guests, clean up and have fun!
When: 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM on any of the following dates: Saturday, July 30; and Saturday, September 17, 2011
Where: The basement of Saint Johns Church on Beacon Hill (35 Bowdoin Street, Boston, MA)
Why: Build fellowship among alums while giving back to the Boston community
If you are interested in participating, join the Wheaton Volunteers in the Hub Facebook group, which will serve as a list serve for all future volunteer opportunities. Please note that this is a serious commitment, and if you have to cancel on a date you've committed to, we need 72 hours notice.
